EUCHARISTIC
CREED

I had asked a dear friend to create some graphics to put along side the words. She came up with the idea of a prayer card. Her graphic art has astounded me, and it can only have come from the Holy Spirit. We marvel at how the Lord has brought us together. Her contact information is below.

WHAT IS A CREED
A Creed is a formal statement of belief. It seems to me something powerfully spiritual happens when we say the words “I believe.” A foundation is built.

Simply, a Creed gives us the foundation upon which to express our hearts to God in prayer.

A CREED IS POWERFUL
A Creed can direct our prayer.
Prayer can direct our thoughts.
Our thoughts can direct our words and actions.

CREATION OF THE EUCHARISTIC CREED

In my journey with the Lord in time spent before the Blessed Sacrament, I realized He was always giving me a gift. But this gift was often not the gift I was hoping for. His gifts came at an angle. Looking back, He knew exactly what I needed most, even thought I did not. As I began to ponder what He was giving me, the prayer began to be written. I have realized He has given me so many, many gifts.

The prayer "journeyed" to the National Eucharistic Congress, where it was "put at the feet of Jesus" so to speak. He has continued to bless the prayer in so many ways.

CREED FOR
LIFE

CREED FOR LIFE

I believe God the Father the Almighty is the Creator of all human life and that each one of us is made in His image.

I believe Jesus Christ, His only Son, suffered and died for every human life, destining us for adoption as beloved children of God.

I believe each human life is willed and loved into existence, constantly held in being by God and reflects the light of Christ in a unique and unrepeatable way.

I believe each human life begins and is fully present at the moment of conception.

I believe each newly conceived life has a future, a plan and a hope.

I believe each newly conceived child is loved by God at every stage of development and is blessed with charisms, talents, gifts and traits that give glory to his/her Divine Creator.

I believe God's plan for each conceived child includes the protection, and provision of all human life from the moment of conception until natural death.

I believe the sick, the infirm and the elderly are privileged to be united to Christ in His suffering and death. I believe comfort and care should be readily provided to these members of the body of Christ and ordinary care should not be withheld. I affirm that their lives should never be ended by physician assisted suicide.

I believe in the Immaculate Conception, a dogma of the Catholic Church, which declares Mary's life was sinless from the moment of her conception.

I ask for the intercession of the Blessed Mother for the protection, and provision of all human life from conception until natural death.

CREATION OF THE CREED FOR LIFE
This Creed for Life “appeared” on my soul, so to say. The words were just beautiful to look at and thus it was written down, in a beautiful flow. In working with a member of the Pro-Life community they were slightly corrected to more align with the teachings of the Catholic Church.

HISTORY
Towards the end of the Creed the words “Mary was conceived without sin.” were written to express a journey and an inspiration. In my own journey, I wrestled with the Lord asking “how did we know” that life began at the moment of conception. A truth this profound needed to be definitely declared. Yes, we had apostolic teaching and tradition, but my heart asked why a “dogma,” something set in stone, had not been written. I felt the Lord speaking to my heart indicating the teaching that Life began at the moment of conception was in fact a dogma…. but it was hidden….. hidden in the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. The dogma of the Immaculate Conception declares that Mary’s life was sinless from the moment of conception as she was conceived without sin. Thus, this seemed to me to definitely imply, her life, as all human life began at conception.

DOGMA OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION
“We declare, pronounce, and define that the doctrine which holds that the most Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instance of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege granted by Almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the human race, was preserved free from all stain of original sin, is a doctrine revealed by God and therefore to be believed firmly and constantly by all the faithful.”
